Distribute the survey within your own organization and get institutional data in return. New partners still very much welcome – the survey is open until February 10, 2016 !
One of our early custom-URL partners on receiving their data at the halfway point:
Why should you consider using a custom URL for this survey?
Do you represent an institution/society that wishes to promote this survey among its members? Would you like to know what tools exactly your researchers are using? Then please contact us. We can arrange a custom URL for you so that we will be able to provide you with (anonymized!) data for just your organization. That way you can see what tools researchers in your constituency are using, compared to national or global usage patterns.
How to apply for a custom URL
To get a custom URL for your institution/society/company simply get into contact with either of us:
- Jeroen Bosman firstname.lastname@example.org
- Bianca Kramer email@example.com
We are both at Utrecht University Library in the Netherlands.
Once you’ve got the custom URL: distribution
It is entirely up to you to decide on how, when and how often to distribute the custom URL among your members/researchers. Of course a direct mail request will bring more response than a newsletter or website message, but it is up to you. We have various images for you to use in your communication. To try and prevent people from receiving the survey multiple times, once you have a custom URL we will try to avoid targeting your institution in our own distribution efforts. If you send out the custom URL to your constituency, please inform them to share the URL only within their institution. For sharing beyond that please point them to our general survey page: https://101innovations.wordpress.com/.
What data do you get? And when?
We will provide you with anonymized results for all participants using your custom URL shortly after the survey has ended (i.e. early March 2016). Results will be anonymized and in xls/csv format, with a list of variables included. Based on that you can do your own analyses. We are currently working on automated graphical reports of pooled results as well. But we can’t promise yet we will be able to deliver those for your dataset specifically.
What does this cost?
There is no money involved. You help making the global survey a success, we do most of the work, you get the data. So it’s free. But on the other hand: if things do not work out and you are disappointed with the resulting data, please do not hold us accountable.
